Disney American Teacher Awards:
The American Teacher Awards promote national teacher recognition and respect for the teaching profession by selecting and showcasing exemplary elementary and secondary school teachers whose classes and students represent the diversity of the American public and private school systems.

Drug, Chemical & Allied Trades Association Education Foundation: (DCAT)
THe DCAT "Making a Difference" Award recognizes excellence in a science program developed by middle-level science teachers (grades 6-8). Honorees will receive $2,500 to be used to enhance or expand the winning science program.

Estes Rocketry / U.S. Space Foundation Space Educator Award (USSF):
Full-time middle school teachers who teach science in a classroom are eligible to receive this award, which includes $1,000 and a full-tuition fellowship to attend the Space Discovery Graduate Course in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher of the Year Award:
The TOY award identifies and recognizes exemplary family and consumer sciences teachers who exhibit a deep commitment to the profession and association. These teachers have outstanding educational programs, methods, techniques and activities integrated into the curriculum that provide the stimulus for and give visibility to family and consumer sciences at the elementary and secondary levels.

Fund for Teachers:
Their goals are to enrich teachers' lives by offering them the opportunity to self-design summer sabbatical experiences, returning to the classroom re-energized in ways which impact students on a daily basis.

Global SchoolNet Foundation:
This award recognizes current classroom teachers, media specialists, or other school-based educators who have distinguished themselves in the area of Online Shared Learning. One educator will be selected for the award, which consists of a cash award. Several finalists will also be honored with a cash award.

International Technology Education Association Teacher Excellence Award (ITEA):
Sponsored by ITEA and Goodheart-Willcox Publisher, this award is one of the highest honors given to Technology Education classroom teachers and is presented in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the profession and their students. The Teacher Excellence Award provides public recognition at the local through international levels. On the province or state level, a certificate of achievement is granted at the affiliated association's annual meeting.

Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award:
The purpose of the Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award is to award $100,000 to one outstanding teacher working in an underserved community in America. The award seeks to recognize innovative and results-oriented teaching and to raise public awareness of the importance of effective and committed teachers.  The $100,000 award will be the largest single, unrestricted award given to a K-12 teacher in American history, and it is the Kinders’ hope that some day, teachers earning as much as other professions will become the norm instead of an exception to the rule.  Nominations are due by February 1, 2006.

Milken Family Foundation: National Educator Awards:
This program is designed to honor educators who are making great strides in improving education. From its original presentation of awards to a dozen California educators, the program has grown to national stature with 46 participating states.

NASDAQ Teaching Awards:
Sponsored by the NASDAQ Educational Foundation and the National Council on Economic Education, these awards honor outstanding teachers who foster economic literacy at the high school level. Cash awards are awarded to several regional winners and an overall grand-prize winner.

National Schools of Character Program:
NSOC is an annual awards program recognizing K-12 schools and districts demonstrating outstanding character education initiatives that yield positive results in student behavior, school climate and academic performance. Although winners may differ in method, content, and scope, all emphasize core ethical values such as honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Selected schools and districts receive a cash award of $2,000, national recognition, and are featured in the Character Education Partnership (CEP)’s annual NSOC book/CD and on CEP’s website.

National Teachers Hall of Fame:
Annual honors for five teachers who have demonstrated commitment and dedication to teaching. Anyone may nominate a teacher. Inductees receive a $1,000 stipend, $1,000 in materials for their school district, a $1,000 scholarship for a student in the inductee's school district who is planning to pursue a degree in education, and more. Candidates must be certified classroom teachers (active or retired) with at least 20 years experience teaching in grades preK-12.

National Teacher of the Year Program:
The National Teacher of the Year Program began in 1952 and continues as the oldest national honors program that focuses public attention on excellence in teaching. A national selection committee representing the major national education organizations chooses the National Teacher of the Year from among the State Teachers of the Year. New Teacher Academy:
a year-long professional development program for new teachers, designed to improve teacher retention rates and foster high quality teaching. Through a combination of emotional and practical support, New Teacher Academy helps new teachers gain the leadership and confidence they need to succeed. 91% of New Teachers Academy participants return to teach the following year. New Teacher Academy is a program of TC Innovations, a unit of Teachers College, Columbia University.

Thomson Gale TEAMS Award:
The Thomson Gale TEAMS Award recognizes and encourages the critical collaboration between teachers and media specialists to promote learning and increase student achievement. Three winners will each receive a $2,500 cash award; Thomson Gale products worth approximately $500; a one-year subscription to Library Media Connection; and the Educator's Professional Bookshelf from Linworth Publishing. Nominations may be submitted by library media specialists, teachers, principals, students, or parents, from all K-12 public and private schools in the US and Canada.

Toyota Tapestry Grants for Teachers:
Sponsored by: Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., the 2004 Toyota TAPESTRY program will award 50 grants of up to $10,000 each and a minimum of 20 "mini-grants" of $2,500 each to K-12 science teachers. Interested teachers should propose innovative science projects that can be implemented in their school or school district over a one-year period. Toyota TAPESTRY projects demonstrate creativity, involve risk-taking, possess a visionary quality, and model a novel way of presenting science.
